Compusult Developing Mobile Application for Visually Impaired Electors

July 4, 2024

Elections Canada has asked Compusult Limited to develop a mobile application to allow blind and visually impaired electors to use their mobile devices to vote, using standard paper ballots.

This new application will be among the first such innovations in the world, and will help to empower visually impaired and blind electors across Canada. Mark Lawrence, Libin Wen, and Paul Mitten from Compusult recently attended an Elections Canada event to describe the Assistive Voting Technology Development.

According to Paul, Compusult's Vice-President, "At Compusult, we’re deeply committed to leveraging technology to break down barriers and foster inclusivity. We’re honoured to have been chosen by Elections Canada for this vital project, which aligns with our mission to empower persons with disabilities through innovative solutions."
