Supporting Global Cooperation Through Geospatial Data: Compusult and the International Geospatial Warehouse
July 7, 2025
(Mount Pearl, Canada) - Compusult, a world-leading geospatial software firm with headquarters in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, is proud to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) through our work on the International Geospatial Warehouse (IGW)—a secure online system that helps countries around the world share critical geospatial data. The IGW is part of a major international effort called the Multinational Geospatial Co-production Program (MGCP).This program brings together over 30 countries to create detailed, digital maps of high-interest areas across the globe—especially places where accurate data is hard to find. By combining the skills and resources of many nations, MGCP helps ensure everyone has access to the same high-quality, up-to-date information.
Compusult’s role is to operate and maintain the IGW using Compusult’s geospatial software, Web Enterprise Suite. Through this system, participating nations can upload, download, and review standardized topographic data. Everything is produced according to strict technical guidelines, so the data remains consistent no matter who creates it or where it comes from.
“The MGCP is a powerful example of what can be achieved through international collaboration,” says Barry O’Rourke, President of Compusult. “We’re proud to support this mission by providing the tools and expertise needed to help nations work together and build a shared understanding of the world.”
This collaboration improves global awareness for both military and civilian needs—from emergency response and humanitarian aid to environmental monitoring and infrastructure planning. It is also a cost-effective way for countries to work together, reduce duplication, and build a shared foundation of knowledge.
With our expertise in geospatial software and data management, Compusult is proud to play a key role in making this global partnership possible.
